Corrine Elliott was recognized as the American Chemical Society's Division of Organic ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ as the most outstanding, senior organic chemistry student at the ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ. Selection is based on aptitude for organic chemistry as evidenced by formal course work as well as research accomplishments during the course of their undergraduate studies, and lastly by a desire to pursue a career in chemistry. Elliott will receive one free year of membership as an Affiliate of ACS's Division of Organic ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ.

Susan Odom and Chad Risko published a report on new catholyte materials for non-aqueous redox flow batteries in This study, performed in collaboration with Prof. Fikile Brushett at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, showcases the long lifetimes of materials created in Odom's laboratory as electron donors.

Predicting the packing of molecules in the solid state is a major goal of researchers around the world. In their latest paper in , Professors Chad Risko and John Anthony derive understanding as to how subtle changes in the chemical structure of trialkylsilylethynyl pentacenes, an important class of organic semiconductor materials, can impact the solid-state molecular packing arrangements that in turn determine the semiconducting characteristics.

Corrine Elliott was awarded a .  The Barry Goldwater Scholarship and Excellence in Education Program was established by Congress in 1986 to honor Senator Barry Goldwater, who served his country for 56 years as a soldier and statesman, including 30 years of service in the U.S. Senate.

Corrine "Nina" Elliott, an undergraduate student majoring in chemistry and mathematics at UK, is the receipient of a Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) from the American Chemical Soceity's Division of Organic ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ.  This $5,000 fellowship will allow Corrine to continue research in the ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ Department at the ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ for the Summer of 2016.

The article titled "Dynamics, Miscibility, and Morphology in Polymer:Molecule Blends: The Impact of Chemical Functionality". The study presents a computational chemistry investigation of polymer:molecule blends of acceptors prepared in the Anthony lab with poly(3-hexylthiophene) and the effects slight modifications in chemical structure on blend morphology. Citation: Chem. The article titled "Non-Covalent Intermolecular Interactions in Organic Electronic Materials: Implications for the Molecular Packing vs. Electronic Properties of Acenes" has been published online as a Just Accepted manuscript. 

The sessions will be instructed by assistant professors of chemistry Peter Kekenes-Huskey and Chad Risko, and Caitlin Scott, a post-doctoral scholar in the department.
